To the end of the world – Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego

Trailer "Patagonien"

Book description

Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, two of the world's most iconic and remote regions, stretch across the southern parts of Chile and Argentina. Known for their rugged beauty and impressive biodiversity, they offer a variety of landscapes ranging from rugged mountains and deep fjords to vast steppes and mysterious forests.

At the southern end is the Strait of Magellan, which separates the South American mainland from the island of Tierra del Fuego. It is lined with many islands whose inhospitable and rugged landscapes reflect the isolation of these subpolar regions. At the southern end is the Strait of Magellan, which separates the South American mainland from the island of Tierra del Fuego. It is lined with many islands whose inhospitable and rugged landscapes underscore the isolation of this subpolar oceanic region.

The author and photographer spent around nine months in several stages over the last six years, during different seasons, and created a unique portrait of the landscape, the animals and the people who live there in his book.

Part of the illustrated book shows the puma in its various behaviours and activities (roaming, hunting, family, mating, etc.). The text sections are a combination of narratives and explanations, as are the captions.

Author

Martin Koeppert is a photographer, explorer and adventurer who has travelled to over 100 countries and all continents. His expeditions are planned and carried out individually according to itineraries he has created himself. Depending on the territorial conditions, requirements and complexity of the projects, teams of guides, assistants and, if necessary, biologists are put together.

His goal is to document unique habitats with their flora, fauna and the people who live there. Critical attention is also drawn to ecological and environmental issues. His expeditions take him to the most remote, but also well-known places, if they are interesting and exciting.
